Morning 5-15 9:15

Eric and I left Rocheport early this morning--overcast and cool with a chance of rain. We set off down the Katy trail, bypassing sandbags and gates, but soon running into flood. Thus began our second detour in two days.

Two days ago was uneventful compared to yesterday. Two days ago Eric had his second tire problem as we pulled into the rhineland diner for breakfast. But the tire was easily fixed and after breakfast we were back on the trail, which we followed to Tebbets and the Katy Trail shelter. A cold shower and AC never seemed so good. Across the street was Jim's Grill. Jim showed us electric chair and offered us the seat of honor. Then bed.

More later about yesterday, the day of the Great Detour--torturous bluffs, Jeff Wren, and the Inspector.

Yesterday we left Tebbets, again on the trail, again following the river

Richard! Eric! It's so good to see that you are still alive! Debbie , Carole and I are so happy to see you looking so sporty and fine. You know how worried I have been and reading your hammer crushing maniac story was actually reasuring to me because at least I feel you have reflected on the situation realistically. Good luck! Watch out for potfalls and don't bike at night. Lisa et al.
