I do, however, want to mention the Monkey Mirror that came in the mail today. Too bad it came after I returned from the Katy Trail where I was doing some volunteer work for the 2013 Katy Trail Ride. I would have enjoyed wearing it. It's a one of a kind helmet mirror that could sell itself.
The Mirror Man, who made similar mirrors, died not too long ago. Mirrror Monkey and HubBub appear to be the two vendors who are now making similar mirrors: a mirror attached to a spoke that attaches to your helmet. Both cost about $20. The difference is that, for an extra five dollars, Monkey Mirror will transfer an image of your choice to the back of the mirror.
Most of you probably don't know that, for 17 years, I’ve edited and published 2River, a literary web site and publication. For all of those years I've used the same image as a logo, so that's the image I decided to use for my Monkey Mirror. I first paid $28 via PayPal, then attached the image to an email addressed to Monkey Mirror. A week later, and after several progress emails from Monkey Mirror, the mirror arrived today.
It's a beautiful mirror, missing much of the 2River logo (I was told it wouldn't fit), but the image is cropped perfectly. The spoke is covered with a rubber material, with the spoke showing where it attaches to the mirror. It just looks wonderful. It'll be like a fine jewel sticking out from the front of my helmet.
